Over the last 25 years, my family and I have come together nearly every
weekend from May through October at the Middlesex Yacht Club, even
though we spent the majority of those years living two hours away.
It was difficult for us to give back to the club while living so
far away. Since moving back
to Connecticut we felt it was time to give back to the club all that it
has provided for us while our children were growing up and beyond.
We all know the MYC is a special place for spending the summer months.
As members, we all need to continue to work together and support
each other to help maintain, improve, and protect MYC.
Volunteers are the foundation that our club is built on so we
must all contribute as much as we can offer.
This is truly a special place.
We should take pride in preserving it for future generations, and
feel privileged to be able to enjoy what it has to offer us today.
It is with this in mind that I served as Chairperson of the dredge
committee, and now as your Commodore -- to do my best to preserve the
club for the present and the future.
It has already been both a rewarding and challenging pursuit, but
I am proud to be able to step up to the undertaking after 25 years.
Each of us play a small part in the ever-changing MYC, but
without every one of us we would not be the Middlesex Yacht Club that we
are today.
My family and I wish all members a healthy, prosperous and most of all a
safe and enjoyable season.
May we all work together to make it another great season at MYC.
Respectfully,
George Grunbeck
